ACE welcomes MagisTV Oficial convictions
The Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE) has announced the successful conviction of two operators behind the illegal streaming service MagisTV Oficial in Colombia. The defendants were found guilty of violating Colombia’s criminal laws related to copyright infringement and the use of malicious software. They received a 30-month suspended sentence—reduced from 60 months after accepting responsibility—and were ordered to pay a substantial financial penalty.
This case marks a significant milestone, as it led to Colombia’s first dynamic criminal blocking order against piracy services. ACE continues to monitor the implementation of these blocking measures to ensure the protection of intellectual property rights.
