Association treating alleged match-fixing in S’pore basketball league with ‘utmost seriousness’
The Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB) has arrested nine individuals—eight Singapore citizens and one permanent resident, aged between 19 and 35—for suspected match‑fixing in Singapore’s K. Star National Basketball League Division 1. One of the allegedly fixed matches was held on August 1, 2025, between Tagawa and Tong Whye teams, ending in a 66–43 result .
The Basketball Association of Singapore (BAS) has pledged full cooperation with authorities, confirming that no evidence currently suggests the integrity of the league as a whole has been compromised. Sport Singapore (SportSG) echoed that match-fixing strikes at the core of sportsmanship and confirmed it is working closely with BAS and the authorities to support ongoing investigations .
