In Hyderabad, Indian police uncovered a sophisticated movie piracy network that used advanced methods—cryptocurrency, VPNs, CCTV, and virtual machines—to evade detection.
One arrested man reportedly used scripts and apps to secretly record films inside near-empty cinemas, with no visible recording indication when the phone was unlocked.
Authorities traced cryptocurrency payments, VPN use, and multiple server setups including ones hosted in Paris, and arrested other accomplices managing hosting, distribution, and infrastructure.
Despite heavy anonymity efforts, the police managed to trace the network via cyber forensics, Telegram data, VPN logs, and collaboration with Indian cybercrime agencies.
