Greek Police Raid Santorini IPTV Operation: One Reseller Arrested, 68 End Users Face Prosecution
Authorities in Greece raided an illegal Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate operation on Santorini that was selling illicit IPTV subscriptions. A 48-year-old man — acting as a reseller — was arrested; the service offered access to premium pay-TV channels for €50 (3-month) or €100 (6-month) subscriptions via a reseller “panel,” with both remote and in-person support.
As a result, 68 users who had purchased the illegal service have been identified and referred to prosecutors under Greece’s new laws against piracy, facing possible fines or prosecution.
Police seized a modified IPTV device, a laptop, a mobile phone and cash — evidence used to dismantle the operation.
This marks a shift: not only are resellers targeted, but also end users — users of illegal streaming now risk criminal or administrative consequences.
